The Front Door
Towards the end of a recent Qijong class, my teacher guided us to close our eyes and fill our dantian (lower abdomen) with all the nourishing energy or chi that we’d been building thorough our movements during class. It made me think of the dantian as a doorway to the body.
In feng shui we want to invite a lot of good energy to our front door so there is plenty of energy to nourish and support us — to circulate in our homes and do good things. Just as we want good energy to circulate in our bodies, we also need lots of positve energy in our homes.
Things we can do to invite lots of good energy to our homes:
Keep your front door and the area around it clean.
Make any repairs needed to the door.
Make the front door welcoming so positive energy wants to come in.
Allow the door to open wide.
Put something vibrant and beautiful outside your door, like a potted plant, a beautiful doormat, or something else attractive.
Remove any clutter or obstacles.
Paint your door a beautiful color.
Use the front door everyday so the path is open and abundant energy can come in.
Wishing you bodies and homes filled with positive energy!
